Censorship-Week 5a

I think that censorship is almost a way of life. It is hard to say something in a large crowd that will offend no one. Everyone is offended by something and nothing offends no one. For example, if you said that school was boring, there are going to be people who are offended by it because they like school or something. In today's world, the word God could be offending to some. There are way too many religions with different beliefs to be able to please all by saying something about God for Christians or Allah for Muslims.
Although everyone is given the right of freedom of speech, there are those who disagree with that person and they sometimes sue for something they said that offended them. I mean, it is just an opinion. Who cares? I have no problem if someone wants to say something against my religion or the way I dress or who I am friends with. If someone wants to say something like that, then go ahead. I'll respect your rights. But newspaper columnists have to be careful what they right so they don't put their job in jepordy. Journalists should just stick to the topic they are writing about so they do not have to worry about what people will think or who they will offend. Censorship is just what people have to live with nowadays because of what others think and will do if you offend them.

Week 4a-Nature vs. Nature

I think that the enviorment around us shapes us to what we will grow into. Genetics pretty much gives us hair, eye and skin color as well as how tall or how short we will be. The enviorment around us gives us ideas. We speak the language we hear. We have accents like the people around us. Often times, we like what our parents like when we are younger because that is what we know. You can't live in Mexico and decide as a young child you want to speak German as your native language. Where would you learn German when all you heard around you was Spanish?

Week 3a- Must See TV

My TV show would be a show that people our age could relate with. The majority of viewers watching reality TV are mostly teenagers. My show would be a show simply about high schoolers living their everyday life when a famous girl movie star begins attending their high school. Then mysterious and unexplainable things would start happening to kids and teachers alike. Eventually, everything will be blamed on the new girl and people she thought were her friends would plot against her. It will then be found out that she wasn't the one causing the events, it was the new chicken in the lunches. The chickens were fed with organic food instead of normal yellow field corn and their meat caused strange things to happen to the people who ate it.

Week 2B-My Animal

I think that I resemble a rabbit. Rabbits don't make any noise whatsoever and like to be alone. I don't really like to talk a lot and I would rather be on my own most of the time. Maybe I would be something of a cat, too. I have always been around cats at home, and I think that it's possible that some of their habits have rubbed off on me. I like to randomly say meow whenever its really quiet during a conversation. Maybe I am a cross between a cat and a rabbit. I don't know what that's called. A Cabbit?

Week 1A- Gothic Garb

My favorite Halloween costume I ever had was my "spider witch" costume. I wore it for four years in a row, skipped a year and wore it again for a fifth time. People always asked me if I had seen another girl in the same costume, and I had to explain that I really liked it and wore it every year. I liked it mostly because of all the sparkles on it and because it had a cape.I also found the pumpkin costume I wore on my first Halloween and I really like that one too, although I don't remember ever wearing it. I remember a book from fourth grade called "The 13 Days of Halloween". I then went and created a song continuing from "The 13 Days of Halloween" and I called it "The 52 Days of Halloween" and sang it to the tune "The 12 Days of Christmas".

Week Six-Grizzly You

If I was going to go to spend six months in nature somewhere, I would go to Oregon. I really like cold weather, but I think that Alaska would probably be too dangerous for me. I would expect to encounter coyotes and foxes in the woods. If I stayed in the winter, I know that the nearly continuous snowfall in the mountains would be difficult to deal with. I think that my veiws on nature and woods would be changed because I have never really been in the woods for a long time. Personally, if I had no choice where to go, I would go someplace with snow.

Week Five-Making a Comeback

I am not really sure whether or not this saying applies to my life just yet. I don't really know of any major setbacks that had an oppertunity for a comeback with it. I have always recovered from setbacks though. I can't really think of any examples off the top of my head. I guess maybe when I was sewing once and I cut a hole in the fabric when I was clipping threads and I was very lucky that I had more fabric to replace that piece I cut. (Even though I had to rip everything out and sew it all back together with the new piece and it took two more days to fix that mistake)
