Week Five-Making a Comeback

I am not really sure whether or not this saying applies to my life just yet. I don't really know of any major setbacks that had an oppertunity for a comeback with it. I have always recovered from setbacks though. I can't really think of any examples off the top of my head. I guess maybe when I was sewing once and I cut a hole in the fabric when I was clipping threads and I was very lucky that I had more fabric to replace that piece I cut. (Even though I had to rip everything out and sew it all back together with the new piece and it took two more days to fix that mistake)

Week Four-The Center of the Earth

I think that the center of the earth would be just like the surface. What I am saying is it would just be dirt and rocks all the way through. I guess there would have to be pockets of ground water too. And sand, etc. Another possibility would be that it would all be a huge area of water. I'm not really sure. I guess that no one really truly knows what is down there, everyone just takes a scientific guess. Although, it is kind of weird that scientists haven't for sure figured out what exactly the earth is composed of.

Week Three-Utopia

My ideal utopia would be a society where people actually use manners and are decent to others. There are too many people who don't use any manners whatsoever and instead say "GET OUT OF MY WAY!" when they bump into someone in the hallway when they could simply say "i'm sorry." Most people don't seem to be able to do that.
I already live in another utopia out in the country outside of Stanford. My family lives on a farm consisting of corn fields, soybean fields, some pets that include rabbits, fish, a dog and several cats, and even more corn fields.

Week Two-About My School

At Olympia High School, there are many differences from other schools in the area. Everyone wears something different, whether it be a sweatshirt and jeans everyday to whatever’s new at the mall. Olympia has several exciting teams and activities when it comes to sectionals and state competitions. Softball, baseball and volleyball are probably the main highlights of the sports and the Marching Band is doing really well too. The football team needs…, well, let’s just say LOTS of encouragement. My favorite part about Olympia is that we have some really good sports teams and there is a lot of ground at the high school and middle school and we have a huge building. My least favorite part is the fact that the hallways seem overcrowded. Everyone thinks that they can just congregate in huge circles and groups that take up the entire hallway and sometimes block people out of their lockers. They never move out of the way when someone says “excuse me, I would like to get to my locker” fifty thousand times and you have to just shove your way to your locker and then they start yelling because you are supposedly “in their way.” Groups of friends are based on whether or not you are in a certain sport, band, or class.

Week One-A Special Meeting

If I could meet anyone, dead or alive, I’m not sure who I would want to meet. I guess I would want to meet someone from a previous century. I like learning about people in history. Well, mostly for the Renaissance and Colonial periods of time and the time when a lot of people from eastern America moved to all the western territories during the gold rush and in the mid- to late- 1800s. I can’t think of anyone specific. Maybe Laura Ingalls Wilder because she lived and wrote about her childhood in those times. Maybe one of the past presidents, I don’t care who I meet as long as they were from one of my favorite periods of time.
I would ask the person what life was like for them and if they would rather have lived during a different century. I would ask them who they would like to meet. I would ask them what major news they heard about on a daily basis, whether it was updates on a war or new discoveries. I would ask what their childhood and young adulthood were like so I could compare their lives to mine.
